French Alps shooting: revelations over murder weapon found

A series of dramatic events in the French Alps shootings;reports reveal one weapon, and 'witness' girl brought out of coma

A bomb squad called in to the home of the assassinated French Alps family on Monday, while surrounding neighbours were evacuated, allegedly uncovered a single gun thought to be used in the shootings.

The revelation backs up the theory that a professional contract killer was behind the killings, as reported by the Mail Online 25 spent cartridges from a 7.65mm automated pistol were found at the scene.

The news comes on the same day that a surviving little girl from the Al-Hilli family massacre was brought out of her coma for questioning. 

Police cordoned off a road in Claygate, Surrey as additional officers, firefighters and bomb disposal experts were drafted into the property. 

An execution series of killings in the French Alps saw Saad Al-Hilli, 50, slain along with his wife, mother-in-law and a passing cyclist (thought to be an unrelated witness). 

All of the deceased were shot in the head twice in professional assassination style killings in Chevaline, close to the tourist destination of Lake Annecy, on Wednesday.

Two children survived the onslaught - four-year-old Zeena hid under her parents bodies and was discovered eight hours after the other corpses were found. 

The al-Hillis' eldest daughter Zainab was shot during the attack and has recently been brought of her coma for questioning. 

Mr Al-Hilli had a high-powered on map-making satellites, the Daily Mail reported, as the police have established that he was key to a secret contract for one of Europe's biggest defence companies leading some to believe that Al-Hilli was killed due to his business/political connections.
