This first person shooter is notorious for its high levels of violence, gore, and satanic imagery, which generated controversy from a broad range of groups.

It has been criticised numerous times by religious organisations for its diabolic undertones and was dubbed a "mass murder simulator" by critics. 'Doom' suffered a media backlash when it was revealed Columbine killers Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold were avid players of the game.
