Great games to look forward to
Batman: Arkham Asylum
Platform: Playstation 3, Xbox 360, PC DVD
Release date: August 28
The cinema world was blown away by Christopher Nolan’s ‘The Dark Knight’, but over the years ‘Batman’ related games (or indeed many film tie-ins) have been anything but enthralling. All of that is set to change with the astonishing ‘Batman: Arkham Asylum’.
The Joker (chillingly voiced by Luke Skywalker himself, Mark Hamill) has taken over Gotham’s psychiatric hospital for the criminally insane. He’s drafted in plenty of allies so Batman can’t just smash and grab. Enter ‘Metal Gear Solid’ style creeping around, set to the franchise’s trademark dark atmosphere, and ‘Arkham Asylum’ doesn’t put a foot wrong. A true return to form.
