'Half Life' (Sierra / PC)

1998 brought the release of the first 'Half Life' title and a new take on the FPS genre - the narrative game.

'Half Life' maintained multiplayer options but focused much more heavily on the campaign aspect, adding complexly scripted in-game action that developed the story rather than leading to just another shoot out.
