'XIII' (Ubisoft Paris / PS2)
This 2003 release based on the Belgian comic book of the same name received heavily mixed reviews and poor sales figures. Nevertheless, 'XIII' deserves a mention.
While all other games were FPS' became obsessed by toppling 'Halo' from its throne, 'XIII' moved in a different direction, introducing true cel-shaded graphics which gave it a unique and atmospheric feel. Story driven, 'XIII' was certainly something new.
