Denzel menacingly plays real life drug lord Frank Lucas in 'American Gangster', which sees criminal empire pitted against a cop played by floppy haired, sunglasses wearing Russell Crowe.

Lucas proves his friendliness to cops and crooks alike by proclaiming "my man..." at every opportunity but aside from setting fire to a few people and using a piano as a weapon he isn't the most chilling of gangsters. He just gets the job done.

Denzel's role starts off the list of murderers, thieves and larger than life characters at number 10, but who could beat him in a shouting match?
