A couple of days before releasing their album UNO, ‘Green Day’ frontman Billie Joe Armstrong has entered rehab for substance abuse following a very public display at the iHeartRadio festival.
The American was offended when he thought that their set was being cut short by 20 minutes to make way for another popular singer, Usher. Armstrong started yelling after a one minute warning sign flashed on a teleprompter instructing him to wrap it up.
He yelled, as quoted by The Sun: “You're gonna give me one minute?! I've been around since f---ing nineteen eighty f---ing eight, and you're gonna give me one minute?! You've gotta be f---ing kidding me! I'm not f---ing Justin Bieber.”
He also smashed his guitar up while on stage.
The band hassince issued an apology for the incident, and according to reports they have confirmed their set wasn’t cut short. The band’s representative confirmed Armstrong has entered rehab for substance abuse.
On September 2nd, the band cancelled a show in Italy after Armstrong was reportedly hospitalized due to gastric problems.
