Halle Berry will have artificial insemination to become a mother... if she hasn't got a lover within two years.
The Hollywood star, who has a 14-year-old step-daughter from her marriage to second husband Eric Benet, said: "I certainly want to know motherhood again. On my 40th birthday, I might be at that sperm bank looking for some help. If there's nobody in my life by then, that's probably what I'll end up doing."
The Oscar-winning beauty says she has also considered adoption.
The 38-year-old actress, who has made no secret of her desire to have a child of her own, admitted she would take on someone else's baby if she becomes too old to carry a child herself.
She said in an interview with Britain's Night and Day magazine: "I would like to have a child so I hope I don't get so old that I miss it. If I do miss it, I will definitely adopt children."
