Outlook Express

Receiving email

When you have started up the Outlook Express program you will get the following window.

Click on 'Send/Receive' in the Toolbar along the top.

This will check for any of your email that is waiting on the server for you. If there is any there, Outlook Express will download it to your inbox.

As it downloads you will see a new window open with a bar telling the progress you have made in downloading your email. You can always tell if you have received some email by the fact that a small envelope will appear in the bottom corner of your screen next to the clock.

You can find the email that you have received as it will be in your inbox (one of the folders in the left hand pane).

If you highlight the inbox a list of email messages that you have received will appear in the top right hand pane. Any messages that have not been read will be in bold.
