Frequently Asked Questions

Why use Supanet webmail?

Supanet webmail is the easy way to keep in touch while you are on the move.

You can send and check your emails from any PC anywhere in the country or abroad.

To check your messages, just head to the Supanet website and enter your username and password. It's as simple as that!

Is there a limit to the amount of messages I can send or receive?

There is no limit to the amount of mail that you can send, but there is a limit to the attachment size.

Each webmail account has 20MB of storage space. You can monitor how much of this is in use when you log in to your webmail account.

To help you stay within your limit, we will remove all messages that are in your 'Deleted Items' folder when you log off. You can also archive your emails to a PC.

Can anyone else read my webmail messages?

No, as long as you take adequate security procedures. Do not give out your password to anyone and always log out of webmail when you have finished using it.

Where can I save my emails?

You can save your emails in your inbox, or any other folder you have created. Please not that all emails will be removed after 60 days.

To save important emails, we suggest you archive them to a PC. You can retrieve and use archived emails at a later date.

Can I get email from other email accounts sent to my Supanet account?

Yes, you can retreive your email from other email accounts.

Just click on 'Options', then click on 'Import mail'. It's simply a matter of selecting the account and entering the username and password for that account.

Can I send and receive attachments with webmail? What type can I send?

Yes, you can send attachments up to 2MB in size, and to a maximum of 25 people at any one time.

There are no restrictions on the type of file you send, as long as it's within the size limit. Also note that a number of email accounts will not accept executable files (for example, .exe) due to security issues.

Can I save the details of people I regularly send email to?

Yes, you can store the details of friends and contacts in your webmail address book.

Click on the 'Addresses' tab at the top of the webmail page to add, edit or delete contact details.

You can also add the details of someone who has sent you an email by clicking on the 'Add to addresses' button in the top right hand corner.

Can I save an email I'm writing and come back to it later?

Yes, you can save the email as a draft, up to a limit of 5 items. If you have started writing an email, but have insufficient time to finish it, click on the 'Save as Draft' button at the foot of the message.

You will be prompted to enter a filename, after which it will be saved in your 'Drafts' folder. You can retrieve the message from here at a later date by simply clicking on it. For more information on draft emails click here.

Why do I sometimes get logged out of webmail when I am still in the process of using it?

You could be logged out if you are using a number of different windows during your webmail session and subsequently return to your initial window after a period of time. For security reasons, the webmail session ends at this point.

It is a security precaution in case you have forgotten to close down your original window and log out of webmail. Leaving it open could allow access to your webmail account and any personal information stored there.

Why can't I access my email account from the Supanet homepage?

Firstly please ensure that you are entering your username and password in lower case and with no spaces.

Please note that you should enter the username only, i.e. test and not test@supanet.com.

Do you access the Internet through Internet Explorer or through another Browser?

If you access your account through an alternative browser, such as AOLs own browser, you may not be able to access the online email facility. We would recommend trying to access through Internet Explorer or setting your account up in a mail programme such as Outlook Express. There is an online tutorial available for the setup of Outlook Express.

If you do access the online email facility via Internet Explorer, please try the following instructions to rectify this problem.

1. Right click (using your mouse) on the 'Internet Explorer' icon on your desktop and left click on 'Properties'. 2. Left click on 'Settings' select 'View Files'. 3. At the top of the box select 'Edit' scroll down to and left click on 'Select All'. 4. Now press the 'Delete Key' on your keyboard, this will delete or erase all the files at that location.

To delete the remainder of the files called cookies, please follow the instructions as detailed below.

1. Left click on 'Start' select 'Find' select 'Files or Folders'.

2. Type in the word 'Cookies' in the white box and left click on the 'Search' button on the screen.

3. Delete everything that is displayed in the white drop down box that appears after 'Search' has finished.
