Saving emails as drafts
For a variety of reasons, you could start to write an email but decide not to send it.
For example, you may be short of time, you may be writing a particularly long email or you may not have all the information to hand in order to reply to an email.
This is where the drafts facility is particularly useful.
Let's presume you are in the middle of writing an email to a friend, but have been called away.
Why let the time you have spent on it go to waste and be forced to start again the next time you are on the PC?
Simply click on 'Save as Draft'. A small box will appear prompting you to enter a filename.
Type in something suitable that will remind you about the content of the email then click the 'Save' button. A message will confirm that your draft message has been saved.
When you return to your webmail inbox, you will see a folder called 'Drafts' with your other folders on the left-hand side of the screen.
Click on the drafts folder then click on the name of your chosen file. You can now continue with your email at the point at which it was saved.
You can then send the email or save the email again as a draft, following the procedure above.
For good housekeeping and to avoid using unnecessary storage space, it is recommended to delete any unwanted drafts from your folder.
To delete a draft, go to your drafts folder and tick the box next to the unwanted draft.
Clicking the 'Delete' button will remove the draft permanently. You can remove several drafts at once if necessary.
