JK Rowling has moved on from Harry Potter and now, she is promoting the release of her newest book for adults, ‘The Casual Vacancy’.
However, Harry Potter fans will be happy to know that the author isn’t fully closing her doors on the boy wizard yet, having admitted that she could still resurrect him if she gets a “fabulous idea”.
According to reports, she said: “It was murder saying goodbye, but where Harry’s story is concerned I’m done. Now, if I had a fabulous idea that came out of that world – because I loved writing it – I would do it. But I’ve got to have a great idea. I am very adverse to the prequel/sequel scenario.”
She added: “I don’t want to go mechanically back into that world and pick up a load of odds and ends, glue them together and say ‘Here we go, we can sell this’. It would make a mockery of what those books were to me.”
Rowling’s ‘The Casual Vacancy’ is expected to become an instant hit.
The book, as Rowling described it according to a report by The Telegraph, pokes fun at Britain’s middle-classes. The author supposedly admitted to drawing inspiration from those people closest to her.
