Kanye West has broken his very short Twitter hiatus by paying tribute to late Apple co-founder Steve Jobs on the first anniversary of his death. Kanye seeming departure from the popular micro blogging site lasted only a day.
On October 4th the rapper surreptitiously cleared his account of all his past tweets and left a single message saying “Be back soon”. The self-proclaimed break, however, lasted only a day as October 5th marked the anniversary of Jobs’ death and prompted a tweet from him.
Jobs died on October 5th 2011 after losing his battle with pancreatic cancer.
Contrary to his claims of leaving Twitter, the rapper couldn’t seem to stop tweeting as he posted a continuous stream of tweets. All tweets combined, his message read: “We lost Steve a year ago today... He is one of the most inspiring and influential human beings of our existence along with Michael Jackson, Walt Disney, and Dr. King.”
He also called on his followers to “be thankful for Jobs’ life and respect his legacy by never compromising on” the future.
After his tribute to the late Mr. Jobs, Kanye has seemingly resumed his Twitter hiatus by not adding any new tweets. It is not clear how long the rapper plans to keep up his break from the social network site.
