“I was 18 or 19 when I got married the first time. I was in Westlife. I had no idea what I was doing. It wasn't till I was 30 that I turned into an adult.” This was the comment made by Brian McFadden when interviewed by Hello! Magazine that made his ex-wife Kerry Katona extremely angry.
The former ‘Atomic Kitten’ singer didn’t waste time and took to Twitter to express her disgust after reading the article. She wrote: “I will never let anyone take away my first marriage not even my ex husband! We may have been young but I knew full well what I was doing!!! And never in a million years would I ever dismiss it, especially bringing two amazing children into it... Love mummy xxx.
“Just want my children to know there were made with love and no regrets #eyeswideopen.”
She later added: “Just want to say a big thank you to all the people who have walked in and OUT of my life You've all made me the person I am today.... Stronger, wiser and one hell of a great mum!! Thanks xxxx.”
McFadden responded by writing: “Some people just can't let go of the past. Even if it destroys the future.
“I love my Kids but there (sic) the best thing in my life that came from that shambolic relationship.
“Now please f@+k off and let me and my wife enjoy our life. With my Two girls...I'm sick of everytime in my life I'm happy some prick tries to destroy me.”
Kerry and McFadden met during a roadshow tour in 1999. They were 21 and 22 respectively when they tied the knot following the birth of their first daughter. They have another daughter, Lily Sue. Kerry divorced McFadden in 2004.
Brian McFadden recently married Vogue Williams in Italy after dating for 1 year and 4 months. The groom had only great words for his new wife. He told Mail Online: “Vogue has made me so happy. She puts a smile on my face every day. She has made me a better person.”
