Ralph Lauren was forced to issue a public apology after hiring an already thin size eight model, Filippa Hamilton, and digitally retouching their shots of her so that her head actually appeared significantly wider than her waist.

Regarding the infamous image for their Blue Label jeans campaign, a spokesman for Ralph Lauren said: "For over 42 years, we have built a brand based on quality and integrity.

"After further investigation, we have learned that we are responsible for the poor imaging and retouching that resulted in a very distorted image of a woman’s body."

The 5ft 8in model’s fashion industry profile says she is a size 8, measuring 33-24-35in. Something doesn't add up...
