Yves St Laurent - 'Belle de Jour' (1967)
Yves Saint-Laurent first started designing costumes for films at the tender age of 24, while working with Christian Dior at the House of Dior.
After branching out alone, his real success came in the costumes for Claudia Cardinale and Capucine in 'The Pink Panther' and his designs impressed critics and audiences alike. He would go on to design fabulous wardrobes in 'A Very Special Favor', 'Moment to Moment', 'Arabesque' and 'A New Kind of Love'.
However, some of his finest work as a designer can be found in 'Belle de Jour'. Since the film, Catherine Deneuve has insisted on wearing his designs many times in her other films.
