My husband does nothing but sit on his bum!

My husband works nights is always tired. He does absolutely nothing at home but sleep and sit on his bum. We have two children - one of seven, another of 10 months and another one due in Febuary.

The thing that's bugging me is that I have less sleep than him every night. I'm lucky if I get four straight hours without being disturbed.

I have to shout, scream and threaten to get rid of him before he lifts a finger. I've tried talking to him but that's nagging so I can't seem to win either way. Please can you help?

Often actions can speak louder than words. Unless its the direst emergency, dont jump up the next time the kids start screaming - just sit there and when he suggests that maybe you should do something, suggest ever so calmly that its his turn.

The key is to take control of the situation. Dont argue with him - try to manipulate him instead.

If you get angry, he'll just argue back and the confrontation will create barriers. Keeping calm will mean he will have to deal with the issue rationally.

And if he is a typical man, he probably wont even notice what you are up to!
