Recently I went out with some mates...

Recently I went out with some mates celebrating the end of exams and got rather drunk...

We ended up going to a small club where some other (male) friends were. I was dancing with one of them (who was also drunk), and we ended up kissing, and left the club and basically almost had sex. Now I dont know what to do.

The next day we spoke online and said we'd be friends. When I've seen him it has been awkward and we haven't spoken. I don't know how I feel about him or how he feels about me. I know what we did was due to the alcohol, but I don't know whether there was some basis to it or not. I want to be friends with him - if not more - but I don't know what to do. Please help.

These sort of things happen all the time in the heat of the moment and particularly to those in their teens or early twenties who've had a few drinks and in the right environment. It happened to me and it'll happen to thousands more. It's likely that he's feeling as awkward as you are and the experience may be a relatively early sexual foray for each of you - it's not clear from what you say. So long as whatever occured didn't put either of you at risk in any way health-wise, put it down to experience and get on with your life. If there's some deeper attraction there, the awkwardness will pass and time will tell. If not, don't get hung up about it. Talk it through with girlfriends - a problem shared, and all that - and don't feel bad about it.
