Lance Armstrong's romantic proposal to Sheryl Crow was ruined when the boat they were in ran out of petrol.
The couple, who are set to wed next year, were in the middle of a lake on a tiny fishing boat when the Tour de France champ popped the question.
But disaster struck when the boat ran out of fuel and Lance was forced to row back to shore.
Sheryl revealed: "We were on a mountain biking holiday in Sun Valley, Idaho.
"The scenery there was gorgeous and this guy let us borrow his little fishing boat.
"Lance knew he wanted to pop the question but he had no idea it would be in such a beautiful way."
She added to Britain's Sunday Times Driving magazine: "It was so funny because out on the lake we ran out of gas so he had to row me back in!"
However, the sexy singer claims despite the mishap, the proposal was "the most romantic thing anyone's ever done for me".
