Guinness has always been renowned for its advertising, probably because it's got more experience than anyone else. The advert featuring a zoo keeper and sea lion was the first Guinness advert to be shown on commercial TV in the UK.
It was aired on the first ad break of the first night of British Commercial television on the 22 September 1955. The Guinness sea lion advert was the second ad to be shown during this ad break.
