Newcomer (and appropriately named) Giant George has entered the record books as not only the tallest living dog, but the tallest dog ever.

Giant George, from Tucson, Arizona in the US, follows in the paw prints of other Great Danes who've taken the title.

The lofty mutt outmeasured the previous record holder Titan, who stood at 42.25 inches tall, by three quarters of an inch - standing at a towering 43in (1.09m).

According to his owner, David Nasser, Giant George eats 110lb of food each month and weighs a hefty 245lb (111kg).
