Amazing records of the natural world
World's tallest living horse
Radar, a Belgian draft horse, stood at an impressive 20.1 hands (just under 6' 8")when measured in 2009, and retained the title of the tallest living horse in the Guinness Book of World Records.
However, there are other contenders fighting for the accolade. The owners of is Luscombe Nodram, or Noddy, a shire horse who already stands 20.1 hands tall, believe he could well take the title. He is the tallest horse in Australia and quite possibly the tallest horse in the world.
Britain's tallest horse is also a strong contender. Duke, a shire horse, was measured at 20.1 hands from the ground to the horse's withers - the highest part of the back at the base of a horse's neck.
Another challenger to watch is Remington, a Clydesdale from Princeton, currently measuring 20 hands (80").
