2. Buckingham Palace
Proudly spearheading the City of Westminster, Buckingham Palace is home to British royalty as well as being a major tourist attraction in its own right. Queen Victoria made it her official abode in 1837. In the second world war it was bombed on numerous occasions, but it never fell.
