Fast food giant Burger King has sold for £2.1billion ($3.26bn) in a takeover bid by US firm 3G Capital.

The company, which has over 12,000 outlets in the UK is the the second largest, hamburger chain after McDonalds. 

But one can only wonder, where would Burger King have been without its recognisable branding, and would it have overtaken McDonalds had it had the same marketing might?
