Bernie Nolan has become the latest of three Nolan sisters to have developed the disease. In a statement, the pop singer announced she was battling breast cancer which has unfortunately spread to the lymph nodes meaning she faces a mastectomy and chemotherapy treatment.

Defiantly, the star told the News of the World: "I'm going to kick this cancer's ass!"

And the former 'The Bill' actress has good reason to think so. Sisters and fellow The Nolans stars Anne and Linda previously beat the disease.
