Discovering the dresses that changed the world
Diana's black pleated chiffon dress - 1994
There have been few dresses that have generated the media impact that Diana's black dress created.
This was the night when People' Princess won media support for showing her strength and independence after Prince Charles, in an unprecedented TV interviews, publicly admitted to adultery.
Instead of wilting away into the background, Princess Diana defiantly strode through the doors of the Vanity Fair dinner in a show-stopping off-the-shoulder black chiffon dress, paired with killer heels. This bold statement quickly became dubbed as the 'Revenge Dress' by the ever-supportive media.
