Extreme weather photography by Jim Reed
In this picture: A large tornado grinds across central Kansas on May 23, 2008. The twister destroyed several houses and was rated an EF-4 on the Fujita scale by the National Weather Service. An EF-4 tornado produces winds between 208 and 260 miles per hour.
