How much topsoil do I need?
How do I work out how much topsoil I need for an area I am about to turf? I have been told topsoil comes in cubic metres!
No problem here. Decide the depth of soil required - usually a maximum of 25cms and a minimum of 10cms. and multiply this by the linear measure of the lawn which is the length multiplied by the width. In effect you take the three measurements and multiply them. Be sure to stick to the metric system and get your supplier to check your figures. It would also be useful to get his advice on soil type.Search the web
