I have just built a conservatory
I have just built a conservatory, are there any plants that like direct sunlight as it gets very hot in there during the day and cold on a night time? I bought a Dragon Tree and a large Yucca but the leaves seem to be scorched are there any plants out there that like these sort of conditions otherwise I might have to buy some conservatory blinds to block the direct light out, what do you recommend?
Yes your yucca would not be too happy about these extreme conditions. However the Dragon Tree, which is an agave, should be quite happy with the heat though the direct sunlight might be too strong. In those conditions you can grow most of the euphorbias of which there is a huge variety, similarly cactus and of course the geraniums. However for many plants you would really need some protection from the sun. It would be worth your while getting a book on greenhouse gardening. Check with your library first before shelling out!Search the web
