I have two newly planted blueberry bushes
I have two newly planted blueberry bushes in ceramic tubs. They have developed from the sticks originally purchased and one has a few berries on it. Can you tell me when and how to prune them.
The thing to remember is that these plants are still very young so for the next two years you should be working towards getting strong growth. You can do this by selective pruning, which means only cutting out weak or skinny twigs after the bush has fruited. Do not overdo it. You have to keep the soil acid so I recommend you give it a dose of Sequestrene, which you can buy in B&Q, following the instructions regarding dosage. I can just about taste the berries!
