I was given a lemon tree
I was given a lemon tree 18 months ago and I think it suffered some trauma in the delivery. We thought it was going to die and shed the bulk of the leaves. It has the same three lemons on it that it had when I received it and it is only just sprouting new shoots. It is covered with a sticky sap and has been for a few months now. I thought it would clear up but it hasn't. I keep it in the conservatory and I water it regularly and feed it with citrus plant food. Is there anything I can do to get rid of the sap and encourage more lemons to grow?
I suggest you start by taking off the three lemons and begin anew. We cant identify the slime without seeing it but why not try washing it off with soapy water? That very often does the trick. You should check that the conservatory isnt too warm. Finally never feed unless the plant is well into a growing spell. Wait till it has produced a fair number of new leaves before feeding again.Search the web
