Is it possible to buy and grow a peach tree in the north of England?
Yes it certainly is. Here in Edinburgh Joe has a beauty called Ken Muir which gives a very good crop most years as long as he can protect the buds from frost. Peaches really need a good south-facing and well sheltered wall and a certain amount of tender-loving-care. Given those conditions they can be very rewarding, even in the North. Best to buy from a local nursery if possible.Search the web
