My garden looks like a day trip for slugs
It has just rained and my garden looks like a day trip has arrived for slugs and snails. I have tried many products but none seem to work. I also have two dogs so am careful what I use. Any suggestions?
In view of the fact you have pets, I would suggest that you try trapping the slugs and snails rather than using a pesticide. Joe and I use different methods so why not try both? Joe puts out beer bottles with a couple of inches of beer inside lying on their sides. My preferred system is empty grapefruit halves put flat side down. The pests crawl in and cant get out. Place them round the plants that are most prone to attack. Then you pop down each morning and collect your haul. What you do with them after that is between you and your conscience. I dont recommend tossing them into your neighbours garden if you want to stay friends. It is a very effective and green procedure.
