My tomatoes seem develop a brown flat bottom
My tomatoes seem to be growing well but when going red develop a flat bottom which is brown & hard .Why is this?
The reason is a shortage of potash. It's too late now but next year try adding potash and epsom salts in solution to your feeding just before flowering. The epsom salts actually helps the plant to take up the potash. If you have been trying to grow on non-peat compost that could explain the lack of potash. A further cause could be insufficient humidity.Search the web
