My wisteria is wilting

I have recently planted some climbers to grow up a pergola, the clematis (doctor rupel) seem to be doing ok but the two wisteria (sinensis) are both wilting and the leaves have got dark edges and are "crispy". We have had some windy weather recently and I am wondering if it is due to that. They were planted in reasonably well-drained soil with plenty of compost to give them a decent start. Is there anything I can do to give them a little help?

You have answered your own question. Sadly what you describe is certainly wind damage. What you can do is to cover it with garden fleece, which you can buy in any garden centre. It is very effective against wind. It is fairly expensive but if you treat it carefully you can use it over and over again. Best of luck!
