Why have my onions gone to seed?
Could you tell me why the red onions I have recently planted have gone to seed?
Sadly red onions are very prone to bolting. Joe reckons on losing a third of his every year to this problem. One thing you can do is to make sure that they are never allowed to dry out. Other than that, you can simply use them as spring onions or for cooking at the first sign of bolting. If left too long they develop a woody centre.Search the web
