Dementia is caused by brain cells dying, a process which can be heightened due to excessive drinking and smoking.
Experts are trying to discover new ways in which to tackle the disease and so far research has found that by injecting a human blood product with antibodies to target bet-amyloid, brain cells loss decreased.
