How about making your own work of art? But instead of any old doodle, why not try making a life-size portrait of your family?

Try drawing around each other on a huge piece of paper (a large roll of art paper or the back of a spare roll of wallpaper will do). Then, using the fabric off-cuts, paint, stray bits of wallpaper, wool, shiny sweet-wrappers and glue you can find, fill in the clothes, hair and face.
