Invading Britain
Alligator snapping turtle
Angler Drew Hammond caught this little beast, an 'alligator snapping turtle' usually found in the Mississippi River, while fishing in Solihull, West Midlands. It took quarter of an hour to haul from the water!
The snappy reptile even tried to claim his hand before being freed. It now roams in the reservoir. Experts believe the monster of the deep was probably imported as a hatchling for a British collector before escaping or being dumped.
