Kids' TV with a lesson
5. 'Newsround'
Designed for 6 to 12-year-olds, this is one of the first news bulletins to be aimed directly at children. It has run continuously since 1972 and its keeps kids up to date with current affairs, in an informative and coherent way.
'Newsround' was also the first BBC television programme to break the news of the Space Shuttle Challenger crashing in 1986. Viewers also have a chance to try their hand at reporting by being a Press Packer.
