Really naff days out
The Eccleston Apple Day, Lancashire
When it comes to apples, Eccleston is the place to go. Every year, with fail, the humble town gathers fruit addicts from around the world to partake in a bevy of wonderful events, in the celebration of one of the world's most basic fruits - the apple.
The day's festivities include such mouth-watering events as "identification of apples and pears", "looking at local pears", and if you thought that was a slightly irrelevant addition to the day wait until you get your chance to "make and fly a kite!".
