Apple, in itself as a brand name, is deemed an essential in the CoolBrand list 2009. With creative, unmistakable advertising identity (remember Paul McCartney dancing around with a mandolin?), Apple established themselves as the colourful, fun and friendly company to rival the colder, more business-minded corporation of Microsoft.

Apple was ranked in the same place on last year's list.
