Only an American could hold such a pointless record, and Joel Waul is no exception as he proudly earned a place in the record books with his five ton monument which towered at 6ft 7in.

Nugget, as he affectionately called it, took more than 730,000 rubber bands to create and sat on his driveway for all to see. It is now housed in Orlando's Ripley's museum.
