The other jobs of world famous celebrities
Bruce Dickinson
Known as: A singer
Then: Head of marketing at Astraeus Airlines
When Bruce Dickinson isn't on stage fronting for rock legends Iron Maiden, he's flying planes. The owner of a full commercial flight license, Dickinson even flies his band to their own shows.
But now, he's turned truly pro after being named the new head of marketing at Astraeus Airlines. Now the 'Bring Your Daughter to the Slaughter' songsmith will be bringing in business for the Gatwick based company which leases planes and crews to carriers such as BA and easy-Jet.
Dickinson has racked up 7,000 hours flight experience on Boeing 737 and 757 jets, and has described his role as akin to "an ambassador" to the company. He said, "This isn't about appointing ad agencies or anything like that," and that he will bring "the Astraeus message and business proposition directly to what is a relatively tight and targeted audience of people and decision-makers in aviation".
He also stated that "singing with Iron Maiden and flying a jet airliner are the two best jobs in the world" and that being in charge of flying big planes is actually relaxing: "It's just you, the airplane and the sky. It's quite a nice little zen moment."
