The top 10 most famous celebrities of the noughties
10. Sir Paul McCartney
Online UK TV channel Liv commissioned a study to reveal which were the most written about celebs of the decade. The results were calculated by TNS Media Intelligence who looked at which stars took up the most column inches in British national newspapers. But who are the famous faces that showbiz journalists couldn't help but talk about?
In at No 10, Macca reinvented himself in the noughties, releasing a string of solo albums and a few experimental outings with Youth (under the pseudonym The Fireman) to great acclaim.
Add to that a very messy divorce from Heather Mills, mourning for his ex-Beatles bandmate George Harrison after his death in 2001, frequent world tours and the re-release of the entire Beatles studio back catalogue, as well as a new game, and the music legend has forged himself a breathlessly invigorated decade for better and worse.
