War of the formats
Bing.com v Google.com
The winner ???
90% of users opt for Google when it comes to searching the internet, but Bill Gates' search engine Bing could well take over when it becomes Internet Explorer's default engine.
Microsoft have spent millions marketing Bing, which seems to have paid off already after it was announced that the search engine increased its user base by taking 1% of Google's search share in June compared to July.
Microsoft has also signed a deal with Yahoo!, meaning it will power all of Yahoo!'s search services. Combined, they have 20.36% share of the search market putting them in a much stronger position to challenge Google's dominance.
