Spokespersons for Macaulay Culkin have released a statement fiercely denying the claims that the 'Home Alone' actor has a drug habit that costs him $6,000 a month.
The former child star, now 31, was defended by his spokeswoman, who said that the claims published by the National Enquirer were ‘ridiculously fictitious’ and ‘insulting’. Michelle Bega, publicist for the actor, also said that it was ‘categorically without merit’.
These claims refer to the American tabloid’s recently published report that the star is hooked on heroin and oxycodone, a highly addictive painkiller also known as hillbilly heroin. The story says that the child became intensely addicted when he split from long-time girlfriend Mila Kunis 18 months ago. Kunis is now dating Ashton Kutcher.
According to the tabloid’s source, Macaulay has been addicted for a year and a half now, and has been ‘surrounding himself with junkies and lowlifes’. The source called the situation ‘a real tragedy’.
The same article also claimed that the actor uses his apartment in Manhattan into a drug den where he often gets high either alone or with friends.
In February, pictures of the actor looking shockingly trimmed down and emaciated circulated. This fueled speculations about his well-being, along with the death of his half sister and a close friend. Both deaths were caused by a drug overdose.
Macaulay Culkin is best known for his role as Kevin McCallister in 'Home Alone' and 'Home Alone: Lost in New York'. He also portrayed 'Richie Rich'.
