Madonna's adoption confession

Madonna will appear on the Oprah Winfrey show on Thursday (26.10.06) to defend her adoption of a Malawian boy.
The singer will appear on the US chat show to respond to the allegations by the boy's father Yohane Banda that he never intended to give up his son David "for good".
A spokesman for the show said: "You've read the headlines, heard the rumours and seen the photos.
"Now, for the first time, Madonna tells her side of the story on the adoption controversy."
The 48-year-old mother of two will tell Oprah about her decision to adopt 13-month-old David after visiting his orphanage and reveal that she will keep him in touch with African roots.
A spokesman for Madonna yesterday (23.10.06) insisted David will be "free to live wherever he wants" when he turns 18.
Madonna has been granted 18 months of foster care for David while she applies to legally adopt him.
Human rights campaigners, however, plan to launch a legal battle to prove that she side-stepped Malawi's strict adoption laws.
David's father put him in the orphanage after his mother died. Yohane now claims he believed Madonna was only going to raise and educate his son before returning him to Malawi.
