Coldplay star Chris Martin says he hates his wife Gwyneth Paltrow being branded an "Oscar-sobber".
The 'Yellow' singer admits he gets infuriated when Gwyneth is mocked for her tearful 1999 Oscar acceptance speech - because she finds the whole episode embarrassing.
He said: "I hate people who call her that."
Martin, who has a daughter, Apple, with the 'Emma' star, also insists he has a unique way of handling unwanted attention that surrounds his marriage.
The 28-year-old rocker, who has lashed out at photographers on a string of occasions, revealed: "I cope by buying as many hooded tops as possible and pretend it doesn't exist. And I never read magazines."
Meanwhile, the heartthrob star says the only reason he makes music is because he wants to make a better album than The Beatles.
The singer, who is desperate to better the Fab Four's 1967 classic 'Sgt Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band', said: "It doesn't matter how rich or famous the band is. I want to compete with 'Sgt Pepper's'."
