Bacon butties have been scientifically proven as the best cure for hangovers, as the cooking process sparks a complex chemical allure known as the Maillard reaction.
This is caused by amino acids and reducing sugars via the 150C-plus heat of the frying pan and the infamous smell which reels us in. The TV chef insists on: "Fried streaky and back bacon inside a sandwich made from bread fried in lard on just one side."
